January Update (3)
11th January 2024
Dear All
I found out, late notice.
Please do attend if you can.
I have emailed Claire and mentioned 5 of us may attend. I have 1 possible and 1 confirmed and myself, 3, so far.
The following message was received via the A612 Flood Group.
John Robinson CE NSDC is really engaging with flood volunteers. It’s very helpful. Some of us have been invited as shown below but he has kindly agreed to include everyone in the group. If you can make it, please email Claire so they know numbers.
Dear Flood Wardens
Storm Henk Floods, January 2024
First of all, many thanks for your continued support as we transition from Response into Recovery.
As I mentioned on our call yesterday, I’d like to you invite you to a meeting at the Council’s Castle House Offices in Newark. The purpose is to de-brief from the floods while things remain very fresh in our minds, to identify what went well and areas for improvement and to consider how we might collectively make the case for more resources and investment in improved flood mitigation measures.
The meeting will take place on Monday 15th January at 1pm and we’ll provide a buffet lunch as a very small token of our appreciation for your efforts.
We’ll also be inviting colleagues from Nottinghamshire County Council; Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service; Nottinghamshire Police; the Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water. We hope, therefore, that we’ll be able to have a rounded and productive conversation.
Many thanks and I look forward to seeing you in person soon.
Best wishes
John
