September Update
Hi Everyone
I hope you all had a great Summer. Enjoy the sunshine while it’s here!!
Just giving a very brief update:
Thank you to those of you who attended the recent refresher Flood Warden Course.
If anyone needs to be added to the Flood WhatsApp Group, please do let me know. It’s a great method of communication.
A belated thanks to those who kindly volunteered with Himalayan Balsam bashing! It was a good few days and very productive.
We have a plan to start earlier next year and make more of an impact. It’s great for the environment as the Himalayan Balsam is a very invasive species.
It can often weaken banks of dykes and becks.
During the Summer months, we have managed to get most of the gullies and drains jetted all positive as we head into winter.
Ditches have been dug and we are in a great position for any excess water that may fall.
The Dover Beck is due routine maintenance during September and October.
The Order Beck Is clear and flowing.
Landowners have been helpful and agreeable to leaving more headland to slow down any runoff water.
We are looking good going into the Winter.
Regards
